Our Administrative Staff

 Ernestina Navarro, LPN

“Ernie” Navarro, LPN opened Desert Treasure Residence in 1994 and has continued her loyal, capable nursing assistance and oversight ever since.   From her genuine love of the elderly and of helping others, she has more than 43 years of clinical experience having began her career at Tucson General Hospital where she was a nurse on the medical and surgical floors.

Over the years she has acquired vast exposures to many facets of nursing such as geriatric rehabilitation, pain management, urology and the sub acute nursing setting - - insightful assets to all of the residents she serves.  In addition to providing clinical supervision and training to the certified staff, she provides state required Service Plan Reviews and enjoys getting acquainted with residents and families alike.

A native to Tucson, Ernie lives every day under an honorable mantra: “We Are Here to Serve”, a philosophy she practices not just at work, but also at home where during her personal time, she enjoys exploring her faith and enriching the devotion to her extended family.   Ernie’s intuitive compassion and respect for humanity bring a loving perspective found only at the Desert Treasure Assisted Living Homes.

Jill Arowesty

Jill  is a licensed Arizona Assisted Living Facility Manager who has owned and operated Desert Treasure Residence, LLC since 1993.   Along with her long standing capable staff, she is proud to offer dignified, loving long term care services to Tucsonans who suffer complex medical conditions or memory disorders.

Before founding Desert Treasure Residence, Jill, also a Certified Financial Planner, was the Director of Financial Planning at a Lexington Avenue financial services firm specializing in planning for those seriously or terminally ill.  In addition to overseeing personal financial planning, she directed the firm’s fiscal strategies and operational budgets but invariably preferred working closely with her special needs clients.  Jill knew then that she would continue to work with this community.

In 1988, Prentice-Hall published The Experts’ Guide to Managing and Marketing a Successful Financial Planning Practice which Ms. Arowesty co-authored with a nationally known authority in the financial planning industry.  The 1990-91 Who’s Who in American Women references her biography and achievements as well.

A native New Yorker, she has resided in Tucson, AZ since 1990.
